Christian Karembeu, who is most famous for his remarkable feats while representing France in the FIFA World Cup, has announced his recent moves of helping the sports sponsorship industry into the future by joining a startup rocking the sponsorship industry.

The retired French international footballer has pitched tents with SPONSOR.ONLINE, a Swiss-based digital marketplace that offers sponsorships for different sports categories. Christian Karembeu is expected to attract more investors, particularly from the football world, into partnering with the firm to extend their services.

The platform commenced operations earlier in the year and has successfully attracted partnerships from over 150 professional football clubs and 50 global brands that are passionate about sports.

The football industry has long been stuck in the dark ages when it comes to the way clubs secure deals with sponsors. Normally a middle man known as an agent will arrange everything for a hefty fee but this is where sponsor.online aims to revolutionise the industry by enabling clubs to lay out their sponsorship options so both parties can negotiate a deal.

The commercial aspect of football IS fiercely lucrative, with the annual revenue a cross the European football market peaking at nearly 30 billion Euros, a rise of 11% according to a report by Deloitte.

He noted, "We have the potential to change the world here, and I would be more than happy to share my passion with other investors who want to join us on our journey". This revelation was coming on the heels of Christian Karembeu's disclosure about the interest of new clubs and sponsors in the firm.

He noted, "There are plenty of new clubs and sponsors following every week; there are more and more sponsorship contracts being signed and the total value of inventory offered is growing every day”.

The platform hopes to change the face of the sports sponsorship industry with the use of cutting-edge technology and strategic partnerships with leading personalities in the industry. Just as Christian Karembeu noted, the platform aims at breaking the financial barriers in the industry, and instead, introduce principles of equity and fairness, reduced transaction costs, and efficiency to take the sports sponsorship industry to the next level.

The 48-year old former World and European Champion, who had represented France for a record 53 times in FIFA championships would help in championing the cause.
